Vehicle Scanner Data Logger

I have created a program that I use with my OTC scanner to capture data from it. It can capture saved events. It does this by 'printing' them to a laptop and my software will capture this data, interrupt it, and save it. The program can also do continuous data capture and capture raw data from the scanner.

Here is a screen shot of some frames captured. Notice the frame number. It is a little higher than the 60 a saved event allows you. Boost is coloured green. O2 volts are coloured to let you know quickly if the value is good, bad or ugly. TPS volts are coloured as well to show WOT.

Here is a shot of the window that appears when you are doing continous data capture. When there is knock it shows up in red.

You need a cable from the scanner to the laptop. Any cable that can plug into the scanner, I believe, can be modified to a 9 pin connector for connection to the laptop.

To install the program, just download the zip file and extract all the files into their own folder. Then create a short cut to the exe file. Check out the help file for command line parameters for the exe.

Currently the way I use the program, I record all the sensors. I have been experimenting with recording only a few sensors and have noticed a large increase in the amount of data collected for the fewer sensors. So far it is a pain in the back side to do this though.
